In 1975, South hall of famer Vincent Parrett set the school record in the boys long jump at 23 feet 8 inches. That mark stood for 43 years until today when Samuel Macklin moved to the top of the all time list with a leap of 23-10.75. That mark earned Macklin a first place finish in the regional event and a trip to the state championship next weekend. Congratulations Sam on an historic performance!
